The academy product had signed with Championship side Barrow on a season-long loan for 2024 under head coach Paul Crarey, but that has been ended early for the opportunity to join the newly-promoted capital outfit.
The 20-year-old is yet to make his senior debut for the Warriors, but played in all of Barrow’s five opening games of 2024 – including a start at loose forward against Widnes Vikings in Championship round one.

He also represented Oldham last season, scoring his first senior try in the close 28-26 defeat to Doncaster in the Challenge Cup before beating Cornwall 36-16 in League 1.
Makin, who signed his first Wigan contract in 2020, also featured during the club’s pre-season schedule in the win against Midlanes Hurricanes.
Speaking of the loan move, Wigan’s transition coach John Duffy said: “Harvey has spent around a month with Championship side Barrow, and we would like to put on record our thanks to them for assisting in his journey and development.
