MacDonald fighting to be fit
MacDonald was thought to have suffered a serious knee injury when he was stretchered off in the early stages of last weekend’s 1-0 defeat at Blackburn.
But scans have shown the damage is not as bad as first feared, and he has an outside chance of being fit for this weekend’s showdown at the DW Stadium.

Hide AdLatics could do with MacDonald proving his fitness, with Max Power having damaged a hamstring in Tuesday night’s 1-0 victory at Birmingham.
The ex-Tranmere skipper pulled up just before the break, and will be out at least until the next international break in a fortnight.
The situation is compounded with Sam Morsy currently midway through a two-match ban for accruing 10 yellow cards.
David Perkins, who replaced Power at St Andrew’s, is standing by for a rare start, with Josh Laurent also in contention to partner fit-again Alex Gilbey in the engine room.
