Woman and three children unhurt after fire

The blaze started in a bin and spread to the side of the house in Car Bank Street, Atherton, this afternoon (February 13).
But all four were outside safely by the time fire crews arrived at around 2.30pm.

Hide AdThe fire caused damage to a kitchen door and downstairs utility window.
Lewis Cross, watch manager at Atherton fire station, said: "It was a bin fire which spread to a kitchen door and downstairs utility window.
"The damage was superficial and the door and window had to be replaced.
"Fire crews from Atherton, Hindley and Leigh were called and were there for about an hour.

"We don't know the cause at the moment and that's being investigated."
