Wait is over for new hen owners
Lucky Hens Rescue North West resumed its work rehoming hens on Saturday, after restrictions to prevent the spread of bird flu were lifted by the Government.
Their eager new owners had been waiting for months as Lucky Hens was forced to halt its rescue days.

Hide AdAlison Thorpe, director of the Amberswood-based community interest company, had arranged to rescue 300 hens from a farmer.
But she had to ask for more hens as there was so much demand from potential owners.
Mrs Thorpe said she has been replying to emails as late as 10pm as so many people have been in touch to enquire about rehoming.
And on Saturday the hens were finally collected by their new owners.

Hide AdMrs Thorpe said: “I’m ecstatic. It’s hard work because the bird flu notice was only lifted two weeks ago and it’s gone crazy.
“I think it’s raised awareness of the plight of the hens.”
She added: “I’m back doing what I like doing best, which is saving lives.”
