Top award for outstanding work of Wigan GP
Dr Adeyinka Adejumo, lead GP at Bee Fold Medical Centre, in Atherton, has been named as the region’s ‘outstanding’ GP in the Royal College of General Practitioners North West annual awards.
The faculty represents GPs across Greater Manchester, Lancashire and South Cumbria and has almost 3,000 members.

Hide AdDr Adejumo won the award after being nominated for his leadership at the practice on Bee Fold Lane, which also helps to train medical students.
Last year, the centre, which is part of SSP Health, was rated as ‘outstanding’ by health watchdog, the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Speaking of his joy after being given the award, Dr Adejumo: “I feel very humbled and proud to have been nominated in the first place for this award.
“Many thanks to my colleagues and peers who nominated me and the faculty for awarding it.

SSP Health’s chief officer Noleen Bailey said: “We are incredibly proud that Dr Adejumo has won this award – he is truly an outstanding doctor.
“He and his team have continued to provide excellent healthcare to patients despite the pandemic and the challenges it has brought.
She added: “The award is even more special as it has been conferred on Dr Adejumo by his peers in general practice.”
