A man has pleaded guilty to sending offensive messages to his ex-partner online.

Peter Austin, of Thomas Street, Hindley Green, admitted at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates’ Court to sending obscene and offensive messages to his ex-partner, in an argument over the supervision of their two children.

The 45-year-old had sent text messages and made a “grossly indecent” phone call to the mother of his daughter and step-daughter in a fit of rage after finding out that she had asked another family member - instead of him - to look after the children so she could go on a night out.
