Washing machine blaze

FAULTY wiring sparked a small fire at a house in Leigh.

Fire crews were called to Slag Lane, in Lowton, at 3pm on Saturday, after a washing machine set alight.

The firefighters used a hose reel and isolated the electrics.

There was minimal damage and no-one was injured.
