A TYLDESLEY man has appeared in court in connection with an incident which left another man fighting life.

Antony McGill, 45, of Henry Street, Tyldesley, appeared at Wigan Magistrates’ Court, charged with assault.

He was remanded in custody and will appear via video link at the court on Wednesday.

A 47-year-old man from Tyldesley was hit over the head with a metal bar shortly after 8.30pm on January 2, as he was walking along Henry Street.

He remains in a serious but stable condition at Salford Royal Hospital.

A man and a woman were also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, but have been released without charge.
