Hopes fade for Braiden

LITTLE Braiden Prescott is to fly back home after life-saving treatment for an aggressive form of cancer failed.

The three-year-old tot, from Leigh, is currently at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, in America, where he had been receiving pioneering surgery and therapy,

But doctors deal his parents Stephanie Reece, 22, and Wayne Prescott, 34, a devastating blow, as they confirmed the neuroblastoma had returned and was terminal.

They are now trying to arrange a flight home to speak with consultants here and discuss alternatives.

One option is a trial which has been launched in London called LUDO, but Braiden would need a special scan to start this trial off, which is not available in the UK.

More fund-raising would be needed to take him to Germany for this scan.
