BUSINESSES are being given the chance to open their car parks and cash in on a musical superstar’s historic stadium gig in Leigh this summer.
Sir Elton John, known for a string of hits including Your Song, Candle In The Wind and Rocket Man, will appear at the Leigh Sports Village (LSV) in June and local firms are being offered the chance to boost their coffers from the concert.
The LSV is looking to partner with companies, organisations and landowners in walking distance from the stadium and become official car-park partners, with participants keeping the set £5 fee.
Businesses who are interested in signing up will need to make the space available throughout the day and evening on Saturday June 21 when Sir Elton takes to the stage and also provide their own stewarding.
Companies successfully getting through the free accreditation process and becoming a parking partner will receive help to drive more trade in their direction with advertising on the LSV’s website.
Legendary singer-songwriter Sir Elton, who has sold millions of records and is world-renowned for his flamboyant live shows and White Tie and Tiara charity fund-raising balls, amazed the region’s music fans by announcing last year what promises to be one of the borough’s biggest gigs in decades.
Anyone hoping to see the pianist perform will have to move fast as 90 per cent of the tickets have already gone, with more than 10,000 music enthusiasts expected to pack out the LSV and organisers hoping for a sell-out.
The stadium is looking to further increase its links with local businesses by offering a further 2,600sq ft of space for rent.
Three separate areas are up for grabs at the stadium, with potential tenants being offered a manned reception, 24-hour security and free car parking, a deal which has already tempted the likes of sportswear provider O’Neills – who manufacture Leigh Centurions’ kit – to make the LSV home.
Companies working from Leigh will also be able to use the pitchside hospitality boxes and conference spaces.
Sir Elton John will play at the LSV on Saturday June 21. For more information about becoming a parking partner, contact LSV safety officer Paul McIver by ringing 01942 487830 or emailing email@example.com
