An uninsured motorist who drove through Wigan while under the influence of cocaine and cannabis has been banned from the road for 12 months.

Daniel Howarth, 34, of Banner Street, Ince, appeared before Wigan and Leigh magistrates to admit to the drug-driving and insurance offences committed while at the wheel of a Vauxhall Corsa on Windleshaw Street on December 4.

Fines, costs and a victim services surcharge mean he also has to pay £359 as well as serve the disqualification.
