Driver ran away after crashing van into lamppost on Wigan road

A driver fled after crashing a van into a lamppost and knocking it over.

The collision happened on Montrose Avenue in Kitt Green at around 4.30pm on Sunday.

The lamppost was pushed out of the ground when it was hit and the vehicle was badly damaged.

Firefighters from Wigan attended and police are investigating.
