A local theatre group is going for quantity as well as quality this coming season.
In addition to the usual five Tyldesley Little Theatre shows, an extra two have been announced as bonuses.
The season opens from September 29-October 3 with Good Old Summertime by Leslie Sands.

Expect happy holidays with familiar faces in this classic northern comedy, a sequel to TLT's production of 'Beside the Seaside'. If last season's plays are anything to go by, local audiences will absolutely love this traditional family show.
This comedy will be directed by Roma Etherington, debuting as a director but offering plenty of experience – she has taken on 23 acting roles in a mere five years winning a Best Supporting Actress award along the way.

This year's TLT pantomime is Sleeping Beauty by Alan P Frayn. Ian Taylor, TLT's joint-most prolific panto director, revives this timeless classic for the society's 22nd family panto – featuring the usual fun, frolics and foolishness. It will run from November 28 to 29, December 1-2 and 4-5.

Ian will go on to direct Ladies Day by Amanda Whittington from January 26 to 30. Four fish-gutters from the North get the once-in-a-lifetime chance to go to the races and experience how the other half lives. A touching mixture of comedy and drama that is sure to warm the heart.

From March 23 to 27, TLT is delighted to welcome Glenn Robinson to Lemon Street. Glenn is a very well regarded actor and director on the Bolton amateur scene, and brings Trap For A Lonely Man by Robert Thomas, a tense tale of twists and turns focusing on a man desperately trying to convince the police that his new bride is missing – presumed murdered!

The final show of the regular season sees TLT chairperson Jenny Whur combine the styles of her previous successful productions by combining laughs, thrills and ghost stories in David Tristram's hilarious Ghost Writer.

Following the tragic death of his vivacious actress wife, a failed playwright resists all of his friend's efforts to drag him back to the real world. If only his deceased wife was as reluctant!

A spookily funny play, mixing outrageous laugher and other worldly thrills. The show will run from May 18 to 22. The extra productions include a Variety Show Night of song and laughter to be presented in mid-November and Another Evening Of One Act Plays to appear during Summer 2010.
