AN EXCITING new nightspot was opened in Tyldesley last week with the help of a local Hollyoaks babe.
Wigan's Carly Stenson, who plays Steph Dean in the Channel 4 soap, was on hand to open the new Starlight venue with her four-piece girl band Diamond.

The old Limelight Club on Lime Street has been transformed into a new bar and performance space, and the public got their first glimpse inside on Friday.
The official Billy Idol tribute act also played on the night as the drinks flowed for the first time.

A dedicated live music section of the club is still under construction and is expected to open in around one month.

Jonathan Towler, 26, who is developing the venue, said: "The opening night went really well and the new club went down a storm with customers.
"We're still working on the rest of the venue and we've just got the bar set up at the moment but we've got loads more events planned for the future.
"We've been assessing things for a while but it's really coming together now."

Starlight has been one-and-a-half years in the planning and Jonathan, who is born and bred in Tyldesley, is pleased his dream venue is almost a reality.
He has worked in the entertainment industry for a number of years and has extensive experience of set design and lighting for TV shows.
