An uncle and niece are exhibiting together at a Leigh Art Gallery.
Neil Anderson (left) inspired his then 12-year-old niece Karyn Killiner (right) when he did a drawing for her, which she has kept to this day.

Karyn worked her way to a Master's degree in art which in turn regenerated Neil's own interest in painting to the point that he has now produced and sold many works.
And he now looks to Karyn for her opinion and advice.

Last year, at the age of 59, Neil, from Atherton, had his first art exhibition at the Turnpike Gallery in Leigh and stages his second throughout this October.

Karyn, a well established artist in her own right, teaches art at Bolton Sixth Form College.

Neil said: "This time I have asked Karyn to take part in the exhibition at the Turnpike which is the only public gallery in the area where local artists can display their work. The staff there are extremely enthusiastic and offer a wealth of knowledge and encouragement to artists.

"I am a self taught artist and I often include local places in my work. One of my favourite haunts is the Lake District and there will be some local and some Lakes subjects in the exhibition.''
