PREPARE for a sensory overload!
The interactive sculptures of Jan Niedojadlo make a welcome return to the Turnpike Gallery, Leigh on July 18.
This fun exhibition for children and adults promises to stimulate your senses and feed your imagination!
Jan's large sculptures are often
inspired by natural or biological forms and visitors will be encouraged to enter the sculptures and experience the sights, sounds and smells within.
The tactile structures are made from a variety of recycled materials, including foam, rubber and carpet and incorporate subtle effects of lighting, sound, texture and smell.
Complementing Jan's work will be the ongoing building of a den in the gallery by Wigan artist, Mark Mennell.
Children, aged five to 12 years old, are invited to sign up for workshops to help Mark construct a giant den, and make their own mini dens - My-Pods - to take away.
In addition to the hands-on experience of Art Factory at the gallery, the Turnpike is inviting people to photograph their own den and add your image to our online photo sharing flickr group. To join in visit http://www.flickr.com/groups/artfactorydens/
A selection of the photographs will be printed and displayed in the gallery during the Art Factory exhibition.
