A convivial evening of great songs and humour from a Leigh-based international folk artist is on the cards at a local cricket club.
Atherton Cricket Club is hosting 'An Evening of Songs & Humour' with Bram Taylor and Roly Hindmarch on Friday, March 28.
Bram (vocals, acoustic guitar and duet concertina) is teaming up with his great friend, North-East based Roly (bass and acoustic guitars and harmony vocals) for the event.
The past year has seen Bram performing concerts extensively at folk festivals and other folk venues throughout the UK and abroad which also included a US tour in New Jersey and Florida and a return concert performance at Puntaprima in Spain.
Next month, Bram will be making a return visit to Florida to perform at a variety of acoustic music venues following the success of his concerts there last year.
In July he returns to Canada for a second appearance at the massive Mariposa Folk Festival in Ontario alongside The Proclaimers (of '500 miles fame') and Buffy St. Marie.
This year, Bram celebrates 25 years as a recording artist with top British folk label Fellside Recordings, which has seen him record a total of nine solo albums to date along with appearances on almost an equal number of compilation albums.
His latest release 'Song Singer' (Fellside FECD206) has received excellent reviews from the British folk music Press.
In addition to his solo commitments, Bram is now also available as a duo with his long time friend Roly Hindmarch who is no stranger to the British folk music scene with a wealth of experience, having performed throughout the North East of England in popular North East folk duo 'Nebula'.
Doors open at 7.30pm and tickets are available from Geoff Swift on 01942 883190.
