A top crime author is to visit Leigh, her books some of the best read in the town's libraries.
Now top crime author Mandasue Heller (pictured) is set to come to the borough for a special question and answer session as part of the National Year of Reading.

The 'evening with' event will be held in the Derby Room, Leigh Library, Turnpike Centre on Thursday, October 9 from 7pm.
Mandasue's tough crime novels set against the back streets of Manchester have already won much critical acclaim.
Her debut novel, The Front, was published in January 2002 and since then a further six novels, most notable Shafted in 2007, have been published.

Stephen Lythgoe, reader in residence for Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust, who run the borough's libraries, is delighted to welcome what could be the biggest literary star to visit this year.
He said: "She is a fantastic author and is being referred to as the Martina Cole of Manchester which is a tremendous testament to her.
"Apart from the borough's literary 'Words' festival, she's quite possible the best known author visiting us this year.
"All our libraries stock her books, and we know that there are a lot of fans in Wigan and Leigh.

"This is a chance for them to ask questions and meet her in person."
The National Year of Reading is the country's biggest ever reading campaign.
In Wigan scores of events have been organised by Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust with support from partners across Wigan Council. The campaign aims to promote reading and encourage people back into the libraries.

An evening with Mandasue Heller will cost just £1 but booking is essential call 01942 404404 for further details.

Mandasue said: "Having been born and raised in Warrington, it was an honour to be invited to talk at Leigh Library about my latest book – Shafted.
"Wonderful for my mum, too, who still lives locally, and is very much looking forward to joining us there. I can't wait!"
