COULD this Leigh teenager be heading for stardom?
He's certainly following in the footsteps of a Hollywood legend!
Aaron Langmead, of Westleigh came third in the three-day international Junior Mr Universe competition in Germany – a contest in which a young Arnold Schwarzenegger also competed.
Aaron, 16, a former Westleigh High School pupil competed against muscle-men in their mid-20s in the performance category of the contest.
He said: "I've seen an all round improvement recently, I'm getting better and better.
"Competitors from around Europe had entered, from Russia, Germany, Hungary and Czech Republic.
"I'm going to take some time out now to get even bigger and hopefully win next year."
Aaron entered the junior Mr Universe after achieving success in competitions across the North West.
He came first in the National Amateur Body-Builders' Association North West contest in Southport and won the South Lakes Classic Competition in Cumbria.
He began bodybuilding three years ago after seeing the results his father had achieved.
Just four years Aaron's dad Andy Langmead weighed more than 19 stone, with a waist of 44 inches, before taking up bodybuilding. Father Andy said: "It's a fantastic achievement for Aaron. He's still only young so he can achieve anything he wants."
