School children from Atherton spent the day in Parliament to learn more about political life.
Pupils from St George's and St Philip's CE Primary schools visited their MPs at the House of Commons.

The youngsters met with Leigh MP and Labour leader candidate Andy Burnham outside 10 Downing Street and took part in a question and answer session with Bolton West MP Julie Hilling.

Ms Hilling, who has lived in Atherton for 24 years, said: "It is wonderful to see local children coming down to Parliament to learn about the role of an MP. They were all very eager to find out more and they had a lot of searching questions for me to answer."

St George's headteacher Rachael Coulthard said: "The pupils had a truly unforgettable time and linked their trip to studies about London."
