Quiet reflection
Pupils, from left, Szymon Bester, five, Eloise Birch, six, teacher Liz McGhee, Mitchell Breeze, ten and Ben Hudson, ten, enjoy the new reflective garden at St Richard's RC Primary School, Atherton.
PUPILS at a primary school now have a space to take a few minutes away from the hustle and bustle after a reflective garden was opened.
The new thinking space at St Richard’s Primary School in Atherton allows youngsters and their teachers to enjoy some quieter time in an area of plants in neat wooden raised beds with a lawn and some benches.
The garden was put together at a cost of around £2000, which was raised by the Flapper Fold Lane school’s social and fund-raising group.
The garden officially opened this week at a special service presided over by parish priest Father Paul Seddon, who is celebrating 25 years in ministry this year.
