PEOPLE in Tyldesley are being urged to donate a couple of hours of their time.

Marie Curie Cancer Care is looking for volunteers to to help raise hundreds of pounds this December.

The charity needs volunteers to help collect at Morrisons Tyldesley on Saturday, November 17.

Siobhan Heffernan, Community Fundraiser said: “Christmas is a time for families and our nurses will be working over the festive period, including Christmas Day to provide vital care and treatment to people who are terminally ill, enabling them to be at home, surrounded by their families and the things they hold most dear. We have some amazing Volunteers in Atherton and Tyldesley who give their time to collect each year but we are short of volunteers November 17 and we need to make sure we don’t miss out on valuable collecting time and therefore valuable donations from festive shoppers. “Please get in touch today if you would like to give up a few hours to help fund local cancer care. For further information about the collections, call the fundraising office on 0161 255 2809.”

Each Christmas the charity organises supermarket collections to raise much needed funds to enable them to provide one-to-one nursing care for terminally ill people in their own home. This year we are aiming to raise £2,000 from the Christmas Collections in Leigh, Atherton & Tyldesley which in real terms means we can provide 100 hours of nursing care to local people.
