Neil Kelly is pursuing his plan for the future success of Leigh Centurions through the signing of top class young talent and experienced players to guide them through.
"We have signed Nick Stanton from Wigan's under 21s and he is a top talent with a bright future ahead of him," said Leigh coach Kelly.
"He is a Great Britain and England junior International who has been sought by a good many clubs. And we are delighted to get him on board.

"He is a goalkicker with lots of pace, who grabs the tries as well. It can often be a gamble to sign any young player, but Nick has all the credentials and pedigree to make it all the way.
"I think he will do a great job for us and is a real investment for the future."
Last year saw the 19-year-old claim 20 tries and 96 goals in 22 games in the Wigan reserves, and he has followed this up with 10 tries and 78 goals this term, also being included in the Warriors' Super League squad.

On the more senior side, Leigh have re-signed prop Andy Hobson for another 12 months.
"Andy is a good solid professional with good habits who will act as a good role model for our younger players," said Kelly.
"We haven't seen the best of him this year through injury but he will give us great service next year, and I am delighted to have him on board again."

Kelly and the club are hopeful that Dave McConnell will re-sign, after seemingly agreeing his new contract, but the club is concerned that Lee Doran has not, as yet, given any clear indication of his intentions for next year.
"Hopefully they will both sign," said Kelly.
"Dave has been outstanding all season and I think we have a deal. Lee is another player who enjoyed a top season and we do not want to lose him."

Never-the-less Leigh are still on the lookout for signings for next season with it being an open secret that they need to recruit a stand off, centre and second row or front row forward of real quality.
"We are on the look out and I still have some of my budget available,'' added Neil.
"The board and myself are targeting players that we feel will come along with the right work ethic and the necessary level of skill to push us into a serious Grand Final contender next season."

Meanwhile it was confirmed that the Leigh Independent Supporters Association (LISA) have helped foot the bill for new signing Stuart Donlan for the next two seasons.
"Once again, a fantastic gesture from LISA has secured the services of Stuart whom is a key signing for the club, and part of the jigsaw that will enable us to move forward with our Super League ambitions," said Centurions chief executive, Allan Rowley.
"We are indebted to LISA for their continued support and hope to reward them with results in the 2009 season and beyond.

"There is a genuine feeling of optimism around Leigh now with the move to the new stadium imminent, the launch of our season ticket initiative and the signing of a quality player like Stuart."
