Leigh Centurions have signed Salford City Reds front-row forward, Steve Nash on a two-year deal.
The 23-year-old played regularly for the Reds in Super League last season, after joining them from Widnes, and will additional front row experience and drive to the Centurions pack.

Leigh faced stiff opposition from former Wigan Warriors boss, Brian Noble as he also attempted to lure the young forward to Celtic Crusaders.

The signing of Nash has been prompted by the departure of Mark Castle.

"Mark has been released because he didn't want to move into the Leigh area and struggled to travel because he couldn't drive," said Centurions coach, Ian Millward.

"He was signed from Doncaster last year but was injured after signing, and with the make-up of the team now, he has no opportunity to grab a lift off fellow players. Hopefully he can get a club nearer home for him.

"With regard to Steve Nash, he made a big impact with Salford last season and will do well for us at Leigh. He is just the type of forward we wanted, and we will give him the opportunity to play regular first grade and to establish himself as one of the leading young forwards in the game."
