Leigh Centurions are already looking to boost their squad with quality players for Super League next season, and have targeted former Australian back rower Steve Menzies.
The Manly Sea Eagles forward is one of a number of top overseas players on Neil Kelly's target list as he looks to prepare a team for a successful Super League bid.
" We have to start looking at players for Super League now." Adds Kelly, " And I am talking to agents about players that we want at this club and Steve Menzies is one of those available. He is a top quality NRL and International player and we will need to ensure we get quality imports that will bring the right work and playing ethic with them.
" The club's bid for Super League is first class, and we must ensure that the playing side is all geared up for a success if the hard work off the field comes to fruition!"
Menzies is 35, but is well renowned for keeping himself in top condition, and he is the second highest try scorer in the NRL. He has played for Australia 15 times and New South Wales on 20 occasions and would be a strong acquisition for the club.
